BRAINWAVES: GUMMY BEARS

Stowe, VT – Over the course of many months, Stowe Cider has interpreted their collective dreams, and they’ve finally taken shape in a bold new cider. Gummy Bears has joined the cider maker's Brain Waves Project of limited edition ciders as perhaps the wildest addition to date.

Pucker Up and Get Down

Straight from their brains to your taste buds comes a mouthwateringly unique cider. Heeding the mysterious calls of their dreams, the Stowe crew twisted up a tasty base cider which was co-fermented and aged on blue raspberry gummies. The result is an otherworldly cider that is dry, as cider should be, and comes in at 6.9% ABV with only 3g of sugar per 16 oz.

“Sour gummies have always had this cult-like following, and I’ve always had a penchant for them” said Mark Ray, owner of Stowe Cider. “What makes this cider particularly dreamy is the big tart flavor of the gummies coming through, but there’s almost no sugar to speak of in the cider. It takes on the aroma and flavor of candy without the sweetness.”

Gummy Bears is available exclusively at the Stowe Cider tasting room in Stowe Vermont in 4-packs of 16-ounce cans and on draft. It’s extremely limited and is not expected to last long. Cider lovers are encouraged to visit sooner rather than later to ensure they can experience it.

New Rotating Track: Berry Merrill

3X7A1331.jpg

Just when winter is starting to peak, Stowe Cider welcomes back Berry Merrill, a locally infused cider that recreates the taste of a perfect summer afternoon: unforgettable, and always gone just a little too soon.

Berry Merrill is a cider infused with local blueberries and Vermont maple syrup. In creating this one-of-a-kind and supremely satisfying cider, Stowe Cider sought berries and maple syrup from two of the state’s most respected producers: the Charlotte Berry Farm, in Charlotte, and Nebraska Knoll in Stowe.

A delicate nose of apples gives way to perfectly ripe blueberries with a hint of maple candy on the outskirts. The first taste reveals the blueberry and gives way to the unique, rich sweetness of Vermont maple syrup, but ends with the perfect balance of a semi-dry finish.

Berry Merrill is only available at the Stowe Cider tasting room at 17 Town Farm Lane in Stowe, VT. Quantities are very limited and are expected to go quickly, unlike the long days of Vermont winters.

New Rotating Track: Touch Of Grape

Stowe Cider recently starting spinning the popular collaborative track Touch of Grape, part of their Rotating Track series. One of the Vermont cidermaker’s most popular limited-edition offerings, Touch of Grape is made with local grape skins from Lincoln Peak Vineyard in Middlebury, VT, and Fresh Tracks Farm in Berlin, VT.

After two previous pressings, Stowe Cider fans pined for the return of Touch of Grape, and the cidermakers responded by dropping the needle on the perennial hit. Touch of Grape is aged on Marquette grape skins, giving it an eye-pleasing ruby hue and delicate notes of dark fruits and spice before a super dry, tannin-rich finish.

Touch of Grape is available now in 4-pack 16-ounce cans at the Stowe Cider tasting room and in select stores throughout Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Like other Rotating Tracks, this cider won’t play for long, and those with a palate for puckeringly good ciders are encouraged to grab it while they can.

Those seeking Touch of Grape are encouraged to visit Stowe Cider’s Cider Finder at stowecider.com/findcider.

TUNED UP PRESS RELEASE

Skis aren’t the only things getting tuned up around Stowe this winter. The Stowe Cider Company, nestled comfortably in the foothills of Mount Mansfield, has released Tuned Up, a new track from the cidermaker’s Rotating Track series.

Tuned Up is made to honor Vermont’s highest summit and host to unlimited adventure: Mount Mansfield. After years of brewing in the mountain’s backyard, the cidermaker has finally created a cider worthy of its majesty. Tuned Up is a dry, hazy cider made with cranberry and orange, coming in at 5.5% ABV. Fruit aromas fill the nose and upon first sip, a mild tartness tightens taste buds before the subtly sweet and complementary flavors of apple and orange hit.

“The tartness of cranberry, along with the natural dryness of this cider make it super refreshing. Perfect for an après drink in the lot or a night in with your friends and your vinyl collection,”says Mark Ray, owner of Stowe Cider.

Tuned Up will be available in 4-pack 16-ounce cans from mid-December until it’s gone. Cider lovers in Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut will be able to get tuned in to Tuned Up.
